You'll be able to choose where you would prefer to spend your time as a London Ambassador. It may be near to work, or an area that you know and love.

London Ambassadors will be based at 35 sites across the capital. These will be the places that will attract lots of visitors, such as:

• tourist attractions

• stations

• airports

• around the Olympic venues

• the big screens which will show the Games

• famous landmarks.

You can choose two locations where you would like to be based. Although we'll try, we can't guarantee you'll be given your first choice.

Choosing your volunteering venue

You don't need to know your chosen location inside out. We won't ask you to list every street, pub, restaurant or park

Choose an area that you feel proud welcoming visitors to, and that you already have some knowledge of. Being a London Ambassador is all about bringing London to life and giving visitors a glimpse of the real London.

For example, you might work in Whitechapel and be able to recommend Brick Lane's best curry house, or where to pick up a bargain at Spitalfieds market. Or growing up in Southwark might have given you a few spooky tales to tell about the Old Vic's ghosts!
