Over 12,000 Ambassadors interviewed

After 195 days of recruitment events at ten centres across the capital, the London Ambassadors recruitment team hosted the final interview on Friday 5 August. Since April, over 12,000 potential Ambassadors have taken part in team exercises and one to one interviews, volunteers have contributed over 13,000 hours of their time to conduct the interviews, and many candidates have told us how much they enjoyed the experience:

A big thank you to all the LA gang at the Church Street recruitment event - you really put us all at ease. Fingers crossed we get through! Richard Harris

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the recruitment process yesterday at Ealing Volunteer Centre. Boris Johnson dropped in to meet and thank all the participants. Can’t wait to carry out my role for 2012. Susan Alexander

Went to my recruitment event yesterday and it was very intresting and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Michael Shearing

Awesome day at Westminster today, I really enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone that made it special. Can't wait... Tracey Judge

The events also attracted some high-profile visitors, with Westminster's Mayor Susie Burbridge visiting staff and volunteers at Westminster’s Church Street Library, and Mayor of London Boris Johnson dropping into Ealing recruitment centre. The London Ambassadors team would like to say a big thank you to all the staff, volunteers and potential London Ambassadors who helped make the events a success.

Boris: Ambassadors are 'truly tremendous'

On 12 July, Mayor of London Boris Johnson paid a visit to Ealing Volunteer Centre, where over 700 potential Ambassadors have taken part in recruitment events. During his visit, the Mayor met with potential Ambassadors who were taking part in selection exercises.

The Mayor commented: ‘The enthusiasm and energy shown by our Ambassador recruits and the staff at the Volunteer Centres has been truly tremendous and demonstrates yet again the rich seam of volunteering spirit in the capital.

‘I am confident that when we welcome the world to our great city next summer our army of Ambassadors will make the experience so memorable, so pleasant and so informative that the legacy of their passion for London will live on long after the Games have ended with thousands of Olympic visitors returning to London again and again.'

Look out for your offer...

One of the most frequent questions the London Ambassadors team has been asked is, ‘When will I find out if I’ve been successful?’

During August, we will be reviewing all interview scores and matching successful candidates with their preferred volunteering locations and dates. In September, we’ll email all candidates to let them know if they’ve been successful.

If you’re successful, you’ll be offered a location and shift based on what you told us on your application form. We’ll ask you to confirm that you’re happy with your location and shift, and then ask your permission for us to carry out a background security check. If you’re not happy with the location and shift you’re offered, you can search our website other available locations and shifts.

Please note that all offers will be subject to background security checks. Look out for your email in September!
