Greater London Volunteering

Your local Volunteer Centre can suggest the right volunteering opportunity for you and has answers to all your volunteering-related questions. Almost every borough in London has a Volunteer Centre, and they are really easy to find. Use the Volunteer Centre finder to find out what’s available near you.
London Events Volunteering Calendar
With over 30 new events added each month, the London Events Volunteering Calendar can connect you to all kinds of events, from managing nature reserve habitats to stewarding at charity races to collecting money for the London Air Ambulance. Visit www.eventsvolunteering.org.uk.
Waves of Friendship Programme
The Wave of Friendship programme supports the exchange of volunteers between London and Scotland. Volunteers can apply for grants of up to £500 to cover their expenses, including travel, accommodation and other costs. i-volunteer is the UK’s first social network that connects volunteers, charities and volunteer managers.

The National Trust

The National Trust works to make sure that the extraordinary places we look after will refresh and inspire for ever, for everyone. Volunteers are a vital part of our property teams creating unforgettable experiences for all of our supporters.
We have a huge range of roles available, for example, sharing stories with visitors to our historic houses, designing guided walks around our gardens, restoring footpaths in the Lake District Fells or surveying birds at one of our coastal sites. The time commitment is flexible and we have opportunities to volunteer alone or with a group of friends.
